TIAH (Traffic Impact Analysis Helper) - Key Program Features

TIA Helper seamlessly bridges the gap between traffic analysis programs such as Synchro, Traffix, HCS2000, or SITE⁄TEAPAC and AutoCAD to quickly create intersection traffic volume exhibits using volume data saved to text files from your traffic modeling software.

Beginning with version 3.2, TIAH also works directly with MS Excel volume tables - an Excel spreadsheet template is provided with the program. Volume data stored in a "generic" tabular format in other spreadsheet or database applications can be easily saved to a TIAH-readable text file.

After exporting intersection turning volumes from your traffic model to a text file (different for each traffic modeling program), TIAH will help you insert these volumes into your CAD exhibit (preferably set up as a "layout" in AutoCAD) with a just a few mouseclicks, for any number of intersections. All you need to provide is the background roadway network graphic or another way to visually organize the intersection blocks, to rapidly complete your volume exhibits.

Basic steps to using TIAH

1. Create a base drawing in AutoCAD

2. Export volume data from a traffic model (e.g. Traffix, Synchro, HCS2000, SITE⁄TEAPAC, etc.) to text files.

3. Use TIAH within AutoCAD to bring the intersection volumes into the exhibit.

Steps 2+3 typically take less than 5 minutes if creating an exhibit with about 15-20 intersections - most of that time is taken up by the user deciding on the placement of the intersection volume symbols within the AutoCAD layout.

Supported Volume File Formats

TIAH 4.0 works with data files that can be exported from or stored within these programs:
