Exporting Synchro Volume Data
Synchro provides many ways of exporting intersection volumes to other applications. TIAH uses the ASCII text files that can be output by Synchro through the "Create Report" menu.
(1) On the FILE menu, select the CREATE REPORT... menu item and select it. This will cause a dialog box to open where you will choose a specific type of the report to save.

(2) In the left pane of the dialog box, select "Int: Volumes". In the right pane, select "Volume Inputs". Then click on the "Save Text" button in the lower portion of the dialog box. This will save the intersection volumes into a text file that can be used by TIAH.

If you have both the AM and PM Synchro files (or other periods), then repeat the above steps for those files, saving each file with an appropriate name (e.g. "Zone 14 - AM").
Note: Make sure you remember where you saved the ASCII file. We suggest giving the file a mnemonic name like YR2005AM, which would indicate: year 2005, AM peak traffic. The preferred (and default) file extension is .txt but you can make it anything if you wish.
Note that the steps to insert Synchro data into your exhibit layout is almost exactly the same as the one used for Traffix data. The only differences are:
(a) Tell TIAH that your are about use Synchro data (in the Main Toolbox)

(b) There is no need to select a Network file - Synchro data files include both the intersection IDs and intersection names. For this reason, the "ID File" button would be grayed out on the Main Toolbox if "Synchro" is selected as file type.
