Using TIAH with HCS2000 Reports

To use HCS2000 intersection text reports, select "HCS2000" on the main interface:

- then click on "Select Files".

The next dialog box that opens will allow you to point to the HCS2000 files:

Now, click on the "Add AM File" button - a standard MS Windows "Select File" dialog box will open, allowing you to browse your hard drive for the intersection files:

Click on one file at a time - this will add the selected file to the AM File list which will appear in the previous dialog box. Repeat for the PM files (see Note below).

Note: HCS2000 software outputs a single text file (report) per intersection. Assuming you have two intersections to analyze in the AM and PM peak hour (for example), you will end up with a total of four reports - two for the AM period and two for the PM period. The "HCS File Selection" dialog box allows you to tell TIAH where the AM and PM volumes can be found.

When you are finished selecting data files, the "HCS File Selection" dialog box will look something like this:

Note that at any point during the file selection process, you can remove any of the files from the list ("Remove Item From List" button) and you can move a file between the AM and PM sections of file selection box ("Switch Item Between List" button).

When done with file selection, click on the "Finish" button. At this point TIAH's main toolbox reverts to its "normal" look, with all files listed sequentially within each of the "AM File" and the "PM File" text boxes (place your cursor inside the text box to scroll to the right - you will see a complete listing of all files selected):

To import the intersection volumes contained in the selected HCS2000 text reports, click on the Proceed button and tell TIAH where to place the intersection volume symbols within your AutoCAD layout, just like when using any other data within TIAH.

Note that when using HCS2000 reports, instead of the standard Intersection ID Number, placed in the NE quadrant of the intersection volume symbol, it will be the intersection NAME that will appear unless you name the intersection with a number, while conducting the HCS analysis.
