Layout Organizer (LORG)

LORG is intended as an alternative to the "standard" layout tool that ships with AutoCAD. If you've ever had occasion to use the tool, you will have realized its limitations and just how clumsy it can be to manipulate.

With an allowed maximum of 256 layouts, even something as simple as switching between layouts can become a nuisance, even if you don’t use the full 256 (and who does).

With Lorg you can navigate between layouts, copy, delete, re-order, rename, sort, or even add multiple layouts, all from one convenient dialogue. Importantly, LORG is TIAH-aware, i.e. it keeps track of the intersection blocks and other TIAH-specific information associated with each layout.

The LORG interface is quite self-explanatory and so the best way to get to know and start benefiting from LORG is to play with it using a test drawing with several layers.

Perhaps the most beneficial features of the LORG utility to a TIAH user are the "Create Report" and "Current Layout Notes". The Notes feature allows the user to keep important notes to each layout, for example "exhibit not finished, must edit intersection #125".

The "Create Report" button will generate a text report containing information stored with each layout, including TIAH-related information. An example report is shown below:
